I've known Ms. Senyurt since 2011, having met her shortly after her arrival to Houston as the newly appointed Commercial Attache for the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Houston, TX. In her capacity as Commercial Attache, she has worked tirelessly with the Port of Houston Authority to promote trade with Turkey, advancing the commercial needs of Turkish business interest at all times.
Ms. Senyurt has brought numerous trade delegations representing a variety of sectors to meet with the port, providing the opportunity for the Port of Houston Authority to promote and develop trade with real cargo owners capable of effectively driving real trade across our docks.
Our office works with the trade offices and commercial attaches from several countries around the world. Ms. Senyurt I must say is the most active and enthusiastic commercial attache of all consulates. Ms. Senyurt has kept in close contact with our organization at all times, raising the awareness to new levels of the importance of trade with Turkey. Ms. Senyurt has collaborated with us to develop many networking opportunities at energy, oil and gas, steel, cable, wire and ship building forums, putting local and regional business professionals together with importers, exporters and manufacturers from Turkey to realize valuable business transactions that have led to unparalleled trade growth between Houston and Turkey. Ms. Senyurt put forward the concept of and subsequently realized a buyer/seller matchmaking forum of Wire and Cable producers from Turkey to develop and promote trade between Turkey and Port of Houston users.
She is a member of the International Trade Committee for the Greater Houston Partnership and successfully lobbied to make Turkey a focus country for trade development. She also worked together with the Port of Houston Authority to develop and successfully sign the first ever Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation between the Port of Houston and the Port of Istanbul.
